Loveland Garden Club

Standing rules are not subject to approval at higher levels of garden clubs. They need to be approved only by the members of the Club, but must not conflict with the by-laws. They may be suspended by a majority vote at any meeting without prior notice.

  1. Regular meetings of this Club shall be held on the third Wednesday of each month at 10:00AM or at the discretion of the President and program chair. No meeting will be held In July or August.
  2. All Club files, books, and funds shall be in the possession of the new officer as soon as possible after the installation meeting.
  3. The Secretary will see that the Officers of the Club have a copy of the minutes within two weeks after each meeting. At the end of each year, the Secretary will chronologically arrange her/his copies of the Club’s minutes, Treasurer’s reports and membership roster, and give them to the President to be saved as reference and Club history.
  4. The order of business for each regular or board meeting shall be:Expenses for non-budgeted items under $30 may be paid at the discretion of the Treasurer without a vote by the entire Club. Non-budgeted expenses $30 and over must be approved by the President. All membership approved philanthropic donations are to be remitted by the end of the fiscal year for which the donation was approved.
    1. Reading and approval of the minutes
    2. Reports from officers, boards and standing committees.
    3. Reports of Special Committees (single task committees).

  5. Expenses for non-budgeted items under $30 may be paid at the discretion of the Treasurer without a vote by the entire Club.  Non-Budgeted expenses $30 and over must be approved by the President.  All membership-approved philanthropic donations are to be remitted by the end of the ;fiscal year for which the donation was approved.
  6. Each member is expected to contribute to at least one of the following during the year:The Club shall elect at least one delegate to the CFGC Annual State Convention at the April meeting, and pay the registration fee for each delegate and the President.
    1. Work on a committee
    2. Be part or all of a program
    3. Present and discuss at least one horticulture specimen or design at a meeting.
    4. Contribute to the newsletter                
    5. Serve as a delegate to the annual Northern District meeting or State convention.
    6. Attend as many meetings, tours and workshops as possible.
  7. The Club shall elect at least one delegate to the CFCG Annual State Convention at the April meeting, and pay the registration fee for each delegate and the President.
  8. The President shall appoint an audit committee for the purpose of auditing the Treasurer’s books at the end of each administration term.

  10. The Club President's pin is the property of the Loveland Garden Club and shall be presented to the incoming President at teh installation, to be worn during time in office.
  11. The retiring President shall receive a past President’s pin at the conclusion of term.
  12. The yearbook committee shall prepare the yearbook to be distributed to all members at the September meeting. Extra copies shall be given to the membership chair for future members. The yearbook shall include The Club Standing Rules.
  13. The Club will send a card or flowers to any member who is ill or hospitalized or to a family upon the death of a family member thru the Sunshine Committee Chairman. Members need to let the chairman know of member illnesses, hospitalizations or death. Members and the Sunshine Committee are encouraged to bring flowers from their gardens, or if flowers are purchased the cost may not exceed $50.00. The Sunshine Chairman shall send a birthday card to the members if permission was given.
